Cornerstone Research has consulted with attorneys and supported experts in various proceedings before the Copyright Royalty Board (CRB). These include proceedings for setting royalty rates for satellite radio services, webcasting services, and interactive music streaming services, and proceedings for distribution of royalty funds for cable television programming.
A central issue in many of these proceedings for determining royalty rates is the assessment of diversion to various sources of content. Cornerstone Research has extensive experience in designing, implementing, analyzing, and critiquing surveys of consumers’ switching behavior to measure diversion. In addition, we have experience in analyzing the value consumers place on various types of content, and the economic basis for the structure and magnitude of reasonable royalty rates in these proceedings.
